How to Pay for College Without Depleting Your Retirement at College Smart Fair 2010

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Money Smart Week is coming up, April 17-24, 2010. I am delighted to collaborate with the Illinois Students Assistance Commission’s College Smart Fair during Money Smart Week 2010. I will be presenting How to Pay for College Without Depleting Your Retirement.
The ISAC is leading a strong initiative to help people pay for college in Illinois. Here are the details for the College Smart Fair:

Who Should Attend?
- Illinois high school seniors who have been accepted to public or private colleges or universities, and community colleges. Students must also have a completed FAFSA
- Parents of students preparing to attend college
- Students who are returning to college

Student Financial Aid and Student Account representatives from Illinois colleges, universities and community colleges
Workshops
- Paying for college, understanding the total cost of education
- Understanding the financial aid process and financial fitness
- Parent break-out sessions
- Answering questions for students with special needs
Panel Discussions
- Student Ambassadors who are currently attending college and know the process
- Young Illinois Saves and Money Smart Kids entering college
- University student finance professionals
- Parents who have children currently attending college and have been through the process
