Funniest Halloween Costume I Ran Across – Pretty Timely Considering our Economy!

As the old saying goes, “A picture tells a thousand words!”

I wonder if this girl can even spell, E-C-O-N-O-M-Y, yet…but D-E-B-T is much easier.  Sadly, this is the ugly truth of how we are setting up a lost, broken generation.  There is hope, there is a way out.  And it starts with us.

Before I go on, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all my friends on Facebook who have sent such kind words the last couple days, writing on my wall to wish me well on my birthday. Yes, I am a Halloween baby!

I am looking forward to a great year ahead, a MONSTER 2010.  God sure has made a way for many of us to see the GREATNESS He has in store for us!  I know it is tough, but let us all STAY ENCOURAGED!  Our BREAKTHROUGH is right around the corner…so let’s keep on keepin’ on!

God bless you guys…PEACE!

In April 2009, topics ranged from teaching kids to save, to surviving a job loss to the benefits of renewable energy vehicles. There was so much interest in financial literacy classes that a new group was formed for DuPage County and sponsored 40 events. Some of the highlights from last year were:

  • Approx. 600 events were offered, up about 15% from 2008
  • 87,000+ people attended events in the Chicagoland area, triple for 2008 attendance
  • 71,000 Chicago Public School students led the way to the biggest MSW campaign ever-the Save, Chicago! Challenge from City Treasurer Stephanie Neeley
  • 3,500 kids took part in the JA in a Day events held by Junior Achievement
  • About 18 adults attended every classroom event, with several topping out with more than 50 people

There were more than 380 events for adults and almost 200 for children.

Matthew Sapaula, Inc. has been honored to be a Money Smart Week Partner with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago for the past three years.  Personally, I have seen lots of growth, excitement and progress over this short time.

Twitter, Facebook, YouTube…the social media frenzy is amazing in itself.  I recently wrote an article for Broker World magazine on how Facebook has helped me build my business and spread my message.  I had a fun time writing it as the editor laughed at me…she had to “edit” certain parts out!  I stumbled upon social media a little over a year ago as I was enjoying the sun while vacationing in the Bahamas.  In fact, here’s that video from the time spent with friends in the financial planning community @ the Cove, Atlantis resort :

Life HAPPENS! 5 Ways Life Insurance Helps You Stay Financially Prepared While Living

It has been said that the only thing certain in life is taxes…and death.  If so, then let’s see how we can minimize the first (taxes) and maximize the later (LIFE!). One great mentor once told me this powerful quote by Henry David Thoreau, “Most men live a life of quiet desperation.”  That’s probably because they lack to vision to see ahead the potential obstacles that keep them from where they want to go!  We have to see more than just ourselves, but rather the legacy we create and leave behind.
